Arab News quoted the official media office of Sharjah as saying that nine people were injured in the fire at the Aibco Tower in Al-Nahda area of Sharjah.
Civil defense received a fire report at 9 p.m. Firefighters rushed to the scene.
According to initial reports, the fire broke out on the tenth floor of the building, which also engulfed other floors.

Civil defense emergency teams, with the help of a dozen fire engines and several drones, managed to contain the blaze after hours of efforts.
The viral video shows debris falling on vehicles parked below the height of the fire-wrapped building.

Residents of at least five buildings near the Abco Tower have also been evacuated for safety reasons, according to the Emirati newspaper The National.
The UAE Red Crescent has provided accommodation to the people living in Aibco Tower.
