King Salman to host 1,000 Sudanese pilgrims
On Friday, a ferry carrying Sudanese pilgrims arrived at Jeddah Islamic Port. Saudi Arabian King Salman has instructed the government to facilitate the Hajj pilgrimage for 1,000 Sudanese individuals selected from the army and those belonging to the legitimate government’s families. King Salman has directed hosting of 1,000 Sudanese pilgrims for Hajj, as the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The directive specifies that 1,000 pilgrims will participate in the Hajj through the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program for Hajj and Umrah, managed by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance. Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Asheikh, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, announced that out of the total number of pilgrims, 500 would be chosen from the Sudanese army and those whose families lost a member in the “Determination Storm and Restoring of Hope” operations as part of the Arab coalition forces supporting the legitimate government in Yemen. As part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program for Hajj and Umrah, King Salman has ordered 1,300 pilgrims worldwide to be hosted this year. King Salman ordered to host 200 Hajj pilgrims from Christchurch terrorist attack victims’ families.

Additionally, the king commanded that 1,000 Palestinian pilgrims, who are relatives of martyrs, be accommodated during their performance of Hajj. Al-Asheikh stated that Saudi Arabia’s hosting of families during the Hajj season is part of their efforts to combat and overcome terrorism in all its manifestations.

According to statistics from the Saudi General Directorate of Passports, the number of pilgrims who have arrived in the Kingdom during the Hajj season has reached 562,056. According to the Saudi Press Agency, out of the total number of pilgrims, 547,505 arrived by air, 8,548 by land, and 6,003 by sea. The Saudi General Directorate of Passports reported that over 1.75 million foreign pilgrims conducted Hajj last year.
