Emirates, the largest airline in the United Arab Emirates, announced the dismissal of several employees yesterday. 

Emirates has 100,000 employees and owns 270 large ships.

The company suspended its operations at the end of March due to the situation caused by the corona virus, which was resumed only two weeks later for the return of passengers stranded abroad.

Regarding the dismissal of employees, the president of the company said that they are forced to take this step, employees cannot be laid off for a long time.

Emirates President Tim Clarke said some airlines would close if they did not cope with the economic situation in Corona.

"The next six to nine months will be very difficult. We have never had such a terrible situation before."

The International Air Transport Association estimates that international airlines will lose 31 314 billion in 2020. This will reduce revenue by another 55% this year compared to last year.

Tim Clarke says that in the current situation, the airlines are facing economic problems, which is also affecting the purchase of aircraft.
